New to Claude

Hey guys, I see videos and people talking about how using Claude has helped them create things, help advance, and solve problems in their business. I own a roofing company and it’s just me in the company. My website is kinda whack, struggling to generate leads, and so on and so forth. Normal small business issues when you’re starting out. Now, as the title states, I’m new to Claude, but I would actually fall into the category of being new to using AI effective and efficiently as a whole. I could youtube, google, or even tiktok binge some videos about Claude, but I feel as if I’m not sure if what I’m looking for is correct. So, I’ve come to reddit to ask you guys for some guidance. I want to hear what steps you took to learn this tool and what benefit it has brought you. Why can't AI graphic do plants correctly?

A frequent frustration of mine is the inability of AI graphics to get plants right. OK, I only use free ones: Night Cafe, Bing Image Create, Ideogram and Leonardo. I'm a science fiction writer and wanted a promotional picture of a robe worn by one of my characters (in Tales of Midbar: Poisoned Well, which can be found on Inkitt. This is meant to use the secret language of flowers to send a message. The prompt was: Design for a cloak. In the center is a Titan arum inflorescence and below that a rafflesia flower. The rest of the cloak is covered in stapeliad flowers. This is the result from Night Cafe. Cloak drawn by Night Cafe It got the Titan arum about right. Rafflesia flowers should have 5 petals and no leaves (it's a parasite and all you can see is the flower). There are stapeliad stems (which I didn't ask for) but the stapeliad flowers (should have 5 petals and look rather like starfish) aren't right at all. Built a local-first clipboard vault with Claude Code — here's what it did well and where I had to step in

been building clipgate for a few months — a local encrypted clipboard vault for the terminal, rust binary, no cloud. it's free. github pages site at clipgate.github.io. posting here because i want to share what working with claude code on a real shipping project actually looked like, not just a demo. what claude was great at: - scaffolding the cli surface (clap subcommands, help text, arg parsing) - writing the boring half of 220+ tests once i gave it one good example - explaining rust ownership bugs better than stack overflow - turning a vague "should this be an enum or a trait" into a 3-option comparison i could actually pick from - generating the entire markdown→html pipeline for my blog automation where i had to step in: - crypto choices. claude suggested a reasonable default but i had to push back and think through key derivation, nonce reuse, argon2 parameters myself. not because claude was wrong, more that i didn't want to trust the default without understanding it. - the actual product decisions — what to classify as a "secret", how aggressive quarantine should be, when to auto-expire vs keep forever. those came from using the thing daily. - SEO and meta description tuning got weirdly iterative. bing kept flagging titles as too long. tool itself has zero ai at runtime — deterministic, local, no llm calls. feels right for a tool about keeping secrets off the network. happy to answer specifics about workflow, cost, or the places it genuinely saved me weeks. submitted by /u/Infamous-Average-439 [link] [comments]

I used Claude to build a full-stack local business platform from scratch. Here’s what happened in 30 days of Google Search Console data

I’m a technical founder but not a full-stack engineer. My wife Kelsey and I had a vision for LocalSquare, a digital bulletin board where local businesses pin a visual ad to their town’s board for $1/month. 43,000+ ZIP codes, all 50 states, SSR pages with structured data, AI search optimization. Way more than I could build alone. Claude built virtually all of it. The stack: Node.js/Express monolith (~6,500 lines of server.js), sql.js (SQLite in-memory), Tailwind CSS, Stripe payments, Google/Facebook/Apple OAuth. Hosted on Render for $25/month. No React, no build step, no framework bloat. Every page is server-side rendered so search engines and AI models can read it without executing JavaScript. No patches, no “add this on line 347.” Full file, every time. I git push and it’s live. The biggest technical challenge was the in-memory database architecture. sql.js loads the entire SQLite database into RAM on startup. External scripts can’t write to it. Every data migration has to run through admin endpoints inside the running server process. Claude understood this constraint immediately and never once suggested an approach that would break it. The results after rebuilding SEO with Claude in February: ∙ 69,500 Google impressions (from near zero) ∙ 302 clicks in 28 days ∙ 666 organic keywords ranking ∙ Pages ranking across 12+ states ∙ Google sent us a 300-click milestone badge ∙ Zero dollars spent on ads The SEO/AEO/GEO work Claude did was the inflection point. Structured data on every page, proper schema markup, server-side rendering, AI-readable HTML, blog content targeting the exact queries people ask AI assistants. All of it compounding.
